Reflections on Democracy: Of, By, and For the People
In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the Ford Foundation has launched Reflections on Democracy: Of, By, and For the People — a collection that brings together leading visionaries to imagine what a democracy represented by all, shaped by all, and working for all looks like in practice.
I’m deeply honored to have been invited to contribute to this collection as an artist, reflecting on the role the arts play in strengthening our democracy and our shared future. It is a privilege to join so many thoughtful voices in this important conversation.
I hope you'll take a moment to read my reflection, and to explore the remarkable essay from Ford Foundation President Heather Gerken, and the other contributors.
